(Mostly) Metal Soundtrack To The World Trip

So, past half a century old, with my best years behind me, and, frankly, after looking at a post-lockdown world with all our current shit, the possibly sensible decision was made to eschew the standard "buy a sports car" mid-life crisis bullshit and instead take a spin around the world (while we're still able) to meet the people, eat the food, drink all the booze and listen to the tunes. Speaking of tunes, tried to time entry to each new country with a band/artist from the region. Behold.

1.Iron Maiden - Powerslave
2.Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini
3.Entombed - Left Hand Path
4.Skepticism - Alloy
5.No Mercy - Lay Down Sally

Death Is Only The Beginning (Of This List)

This is a list of all the death metal albums I have listened to that I thought were at all worth remembering. Like my other genre lists, this is just a record of my own listening experience that I use for personal organization, not a definitive account of the best or all of the death metal out there; there will probably be albums or bands that are not death metal in the strictest sense. You'll find some OSDM, melodeath, tech death, death-doom, maybe a bit of deathcore, I don't know. Maybe some non-death metal albums by death metal bands that I put in here just because.

1.Death - The Sound Of Perseverance
2.Death - Symbolic
3.At The Gates - With Fear I Kiss The Burning Darkness
4.At The Gates - Slaughter Of The Soul
5.Amon Amarth - With Oden On Our Side

The Best Metal Albums* From A To # (R)

This list is meant to be an extensive, but by no means exhaustive, collection of the greatest (modern) metal albums and eps. Running the gamut from avant-garde to trve norweigan black metal. *As someone who is young in age, my tastes tend to revolve around the period of the 80s to the present.* Although certain metal albums from before will certainly be featured, the period of the 60s-70s will be under-represented. I refer you to this excellent list to gain a better appreciation for some of the best metal from that period: https://rateyourmusic.com/list/freis/martin_popoffs_the_top_500_heavy_metal_albums_of_all_time/

1.Racer X - Technical Difficulties
2.Radiance (FIN) - The Burning Sun
3.Ragana - You Take Nothing
4.Rage - Black In Mind
5.Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine

2011: Favourite To Least

Purely subjective list based on personal preferences for the year, unrelated to mass opinion of an album or a band's abilities (e.g. Trivium, Oranssi Pazuzu) - many albums lined up to listen to so will increase in size. Also, not entirely in order, middle order mainly just an approximation.

1.Sylosis - Edge Of The Earth
2.Protest The Hero - Scurrilous
3.Infestus - E x I s t
4.Amorphis - The Beginning Of Times
5.Ouroboros - Glorification Of A Myth

The Highlights Of 2011

Just a humble list of albums released this year that I found really enjoyable. There is no real order in here, as it's too hard for me to decided which album deserve, e.g., a 1st place and which - a 13th. So... Just listen to all these good pieces of music and enjoy!

1.Septicflesh - The Great Mass
2.Opeth - Heritage
3.Pain Of Salvation - Road Salt Two
4.Primordial - Redemption At The Puritan's Hand
