“There are no more tales to be told! / No more stories from battles of old! / Now it seems our journey has come to an end! / We are scraping the barrel, my friend!” These lines from “Scraping The Barrel” are more relevant in 2022 than they were when Alestorm wrote them in 2011.
One of their stronger albums in my opinion, up there with Sunset and No Grave. Much better than their last one. Not one song that I would say is bad on here.
A cool catchy album as always from this crazy bunch of drunks! I can Imagine this album would be great fun live especially after a skiinful of ale, there's much energy to it, there's lot's of good folky melodies and a cool pirate theme too, so even if the lyrics are wee bit of silly it's still enjoyable party music.
Didn't realise they did so many harsh vocals. I do enjoy this album a bit, good instrumentation and lyrics as usual. Random cannon blasts are a plus too.

I tried Alestorm before, but I only enjoyed a handful of songs. This is so catchy I'm surprised it's the same band. Any other albums that are this good?
Good Album, but Metal Hammer has given it half a star out out 5! What a pompous bunch of tits, and all because of a tweet that they were too sensitive about from the lead singer... get a grip. Judge the album fairly and not air your arsehole politically correct opinions. Anyway... Alestorm are brilliant, a break from everything angry and serious, its always good to have a party now and then : ) but my favourite track is still Death throes of the terrorsquid on the Back Through Time album, Classic.

If you like this album you would most likely enjoy No Grave But The Sea and Sunset on the Golden Age as well.
Pretty good album, if you like the Alestorm sound as I do then this is a great run-in-the-album. Now with that said, they were way better when they took their pirate stories as serious and produced a more mature sound. They're making too many gimmick songs like Pirate PARTY, The Battle of Cape Fear River, and Cannonball. Cannonball might seriously be the worst song they've ever made, but there are some brilliant songs if you liked their earlier stuff such as Magellan's Expedition, Under Blackened Banners, and Seventh Rum.
