Hell yes! Olympiakos wins the Conference League. Tonight I'm extra proud to be half Greek. Coincidentally Olympiakos is also the team I'm rooting for in Greek football which makes the win all the sweeter.
But yeah man, if you end up at Roadburn do not hesitate to contact me or Radu. Same if you happen to be in Copenhagen or in the very south of Sweden in my case. ;)
Roadburn doesn't sell out as quickly as when I started going. I think it was by February or even March that it finally sold out this year (the festival is in April). The biggest question is where you wanna stay (camping or not)
Starspawn was one of 2016's most hyped albums in the metal underground. In the midst of a death metal renaissance, Blood Incantation delivered a debut full-length that cashed in on the good reputation they gained after their 2015 EP, Interdimensional Exctinction. And while countless bands are looking back at the genre's roots nowadays, unfortunately most seem unable to move away from ultimately being characterized plain copycats; Blood Incantation, however, is not one of these bands.
Nah, this has a general "likeability" which for the most part, matches those of the other great dm albums released last year.
It is excellent too eventhough I prefer Howls of Ebb to it. But still doesn't make us enjoy this any less.
I mean the album is basically Morbid Angel's Blessed Are the Sick that's pumped to the brim with Timeghoul and shot towards the planet Nocturnus. I think the problem that Jooe and gang have with it is that, yes, its not an album that 'moves the genre forward' so to speak. Its rather an album that looks back at what made the old '90s Florida death metal records so great and rather than copying it verbatim like 80% of other death metal bands do, they added to it techniques learned over the genre's 25 year evolution. It feels modern but tickles that itch that the old records used to scratch. (Kinda getting deja vu with the Chthe'ilist thread over here).
That being said, I still think that Howls of Ebb and Vanhelgd as well as a few others released better death metal records this year. Hell, this album didn't even break into my top 20 (though to be fair it was a really good year hehe)
