Biography

Metacrose is a Brazilian Death Metal band. Created in the underground scene of João Pessoa in 1998, it is one of the main representatives of G-114 (a counter-cultural movement which emerged in 2001 in the districts of Funcionários II, III and IV, characterized by the production of alternative media, aesthetic experimentation and political activism) and the metal scene of the city.

It is well-known for its composition of a series of rhythmic variations, “anarchistic” alternation of movements, blast beats and growling vocals. The lyrics usually deal with existential and metaphysical themes such as suffering, fear, consciousness, self-awareness and various social and political issues.
The group’s first EP, Trevas Abissais, was released in 2003. At that time the band had five members, including the first vocalist Thiago Geovane. In 2005, Vinicius Laurindo assumed the roles of bassist and vocalist. The band also has Israel Rêmora and Thiago Bandeira on guitars and Deathmetrius on drums – all of the original.

In the same year they participated in the Split-vinyl – Warriors of the Morbid Moon III –and released the music video “Destruindo a Coroa”. After a long break, the group returned in 2011 with the addition of bassist Marcos Meireles, participating in the collection “Eternal Fire I” and inthe release of the video “What’s Established?”

2014 Metacrose released the album "Interrorgate" with special guests José Mojica Marins (Coffin Joe) and Marcus Siepen (Blind Guardian).
