Paradise Lost - Launch New Single 'Ghosts'
Today, Paradise Lost release "Ghosts", the second single from their forthcoming studio album Obsidian, due out on May 15th via Nuclear Blast Records.
Vocalist Nick Holmes about "Ghosts": "This song tips a cap to the goth rock music that was ubiquitous when we were teenagers. Even as young Death metal fans, a lot of that old 80's music is still very much the soundtrack of our early lives. Lyrically it's about being haunted by the past and a shallow belief in something you hope will destroy the demons."

The whole song but especially the beginning is soooooo Sisters of Mercy. Väyrynen has incorporated Doktor Avalanche in his drumming and Old Nick is subtly mirroring Eldritch. I like it a lot but I am a fanboy of both PL and SoM, so what do I know.

I know its not a super popular opinion but I got into PL with Draconian Times so this is the kind of PL which really excites me! The death metal records were fine but they just didn't feel like PL to me. Anyway, i'm getting excited for this album, these first two tracks have been great!
