What could possibly be more Dutch than flower-themed black metal?

Father: How can a picture of a field be sad without a sad person looking sad in the field?
Young Woman: That's an interesting problem. Yeah, I struggle with that.

This is quite upbeat for a black metal album. Some really good riffing interspersed throughout the album. Very melodic with heaps of folk elements. The songs are rhythmic and structured. The acoustic work is quite mesmerizing. The band gives a definitive Solstafir feel.

I wanted to give it a 9 but I'll stick to a solid 8. The first track, while great, is not as unique as the rest of the album. It doesn't have the same amount of warmth, triumphant and out-there vibe. And since the album is so short, that's gotta be counted by one less point.Still, brilliant release and it's obvious the Dutch scene is worth getting invested in.
