Trond "Trondr Nefas" Bråthen, guitarist and vocalist of Norwegian black metal band Urgehal has passed away, reports Season Of Mist, the band's label.
The following statement was posted on the label's official Facebook page: "We are deeply sorry to announce that Urgehal guitarist / vocalist Trondr Nefas just passed away. More news and official statement to follow soon. RIP."
German death/thrash metallers Dew-Scented have announced new line-up changes. The band comments: "The new line-up (re-)introduces Marvin Vriesde (Severe Torture, ex Blo.Torch) as main guitarist and songwriter."

Phil Anselmo (Down, Pantera) is currently working on his first solo album. In a recent interview, Anselmo talked about his upcoming solo project where he did not just write all of the songs, but also produced them in his studio Housecore Records. Anselmo states that the most probable time of release is at the end of this year. He also calls his debut solo effort "one of the most intense things I've done, ever". Musicians that helped him with the album are Marzi Montazeri on guitar, with whom Anselmo played in Superjoint Ritual, on drums Jose Manuel Gonzales of Warbeast and on bass Bennett Bartley.
Turkish heavy metallers Mezarkabul (aka Pentagram) have released a new video for the song "Geçmisin Yükü", taken from the band's latest album MMXII. Paris-based sludge/doom act Eibon has recently released a new video clip for "Entering Darkness", the title track off the band's latest album released through Aesthetic Death Records in 2010. Guitarist Slash has just released his new video taken off his second solo album, Apocalyptic Love. The new album is due to be released on May 22nd via his own label Dik Hayd International and distributed through EMI. The new video, "You're A Lie", was filmed in early April at Lot 28 at Universal Studios in California with director Anthony Leonardi III. The video can be seen below.
