I am not an active follower of Falconer, but this Swedish quintet has produced some of the best albums ever to grace the power metal genre, and seeing them finally hang up their quills and questing boots is no one's idea of a great summer. Trace another silhouette on 2020's fuselage, I guess. But before they went, Falconer decided to give us one final rejoinder: From A Dying Ember.

Great news. A very original band with a great guitarist and unique singer.

Looking forward to this album. A goodbye to the falconer and the band themselves. Thanks for the music!

Good swansong album. got something for every fan of falconer while retaining good quality. songs about kings, queens, jesters and fools. scandi-folk elements with the typical falconer swedish lyrics song throw in there. overall typical falconer done well.

I was underwhelmed after the first few listens but that quickly changed after a few more. The mix is great on this album; guitars, vocals, folk instruments, everything sounds great. It has those classic Falconer riffs and medieval melodies I've grown to love. All in all, a great way to go out as a cohesive band playing at its best. They will be missed...

I really enjoyed this album in my opinion I think it's a good layoff for the band since they announced the end of falconer

Typical Falconer stuff, good melodic riffs, super vocal and.... nothing more. I would say average album in comparison to Chapters From A Vale Forlorn or Northwind. Very nice to listen to but not lasting in memory (at least in mine I know they can compose breaking through songs but this time they didn't. Still - album worth listening as all songs are good and perfectly sounding (guitars, drums, vocals).

A good, solid album, although not as memorable as I would have liked. A decent enough send off.

Same old tunes. Good for fans.

In the beginning I was made of clay. Then I bit the apple and they changed me to metal 🤘

Last outing was a decent one with good melodic riffs. This is let down.

I can't find anything wrong with this album or any major difference between it and the majority of their discography. It's a high 7 for me with "Fool's Crusade" being my favorite track and the fast mid section with the great guitar solo of "Rapture" followed by "Testify".

Excellent farewell album. Falconer is retiring with it's head held up high. This is a condensed retrospect of a very interesting band.

I'd never listened to Falconer so didn't know what to expect; certainly not the tremolo riff in Kings and Queens that borders on extreme metal riffing, combined with a dulcet singing voice like that. The little lead guitar fluorishes work nicely too.

The vocals are a curious combination with the music, given how muted they are; I like them, but I don't know if they're necessarily the best fit for the songs in terms of intensity, even though they do give the music a distinctive feel compared with other PM bands. Really solid album overall.
