Moonspell's albums are always awaited by their fans, as each release from this Portuguese band is totally different from the previous. In these conditions, putting a tag on Moonspell's music is difficult and I have to refer to general knowledge to categorize them as a gothic/doom metal band . Darkness And Hope is the successor to the very weird The Butterfly Effect, which was both experimental and brutal.
