One of the most important and cherished albums in the band's roster. Covenant has an incredible Aura of supremacy and bereavement along its whole existence. Let me start by saying, Covenant is a work of art, a masterpiece in the Morbid Angel catalog that everyone must have, if not only for the musical greatness also for the conceptual valor this album on its own has.

Definitely a great album, which only feels like a disappointment as it was unlucky to be the follow up to the absolute classic and one of the greatest death metal albums of all time, "Blessed Are The Sick"! xD

Indeed the Blessed is the best album they did, Altars was great but the leap In Maturity and Musicianship as well as a more "Intelligent" style of song writing did it for Blessed. Covenant suffers slightly compared to Blessed but its an excellent album in its own right.

That is exactly how I feel about the first 3 albums too. Altars... was a fantastic debut, and at the time of it's release must have been a breath of fresh (or putrid, if you want to call it that! ) air for the metal scene. "Covenant" is a really great album, and the fact it's actually weaker than it's predecessor, only highlights how amazing that album actually is. "Blessed Are The Sick" is one of those rare albums that transcends being just a "great album", there's a majesty about it, an almost ethereal presence within it's sound and songs that makes it very special. To me, it's not merely one of the all time classics of death metal, but of all metal and music in general. Truly a masterpiece in every sense of the word. xD
