After the phenomenal success of 2000's The Haunted Made Me Do It, Swedish thrash metal act The Haunted must have known it was going to be a hard task to equal, let alone top it. However, One Kill Wonder lives up to expectations expected from the band, and will no doubt be up for awards polls towards the end of the year! The band , Jonas Bjorler on bass, Anders Bjorler and Jensen on guitars and Per Moller Jensen drums have returned to Studio Fredman with producer Fredrik Nordstrom sitting behind the desk. Even the controversial departure and subsequent return of guitarist Anders Bjorler couldn't deter his contribution to The Haunted all-important brutal third album.

Sorry, I should have had to specify that your knowledge of thrash and old school thrash is even worse than your knowledge of of death metal and osdm

I can only assume you're suggesting that this record in some way contains old school death metal, in which case you clearly are extremely drunk. I think it's about time you hit the sack and try again in the morning hahaha.

Read cause currently you're as bad at reading as k7. Nowhere do I say that there is any osdm in it. I am just comparing your "knowlegde" of thrash is even worse than your knowledge of "osdm" and "dm"

for my remark as me being a osdm freak... it is unbelievabale that me as a total osdm freak could not ever give this totally generic thrash album a 6 and that even though I extremely enjoy totally generic music.

There's only thing around here that's like K7 and I think it's pretty obvious to everyone what that is ;] Try typing again in the morning, things will be a lot clearer then.

Yeah rEVOLVEr isn't bad. My favourite one with Peter Dolving. 99 is a great song.

Yeah, the dude really shined on that album. Insane vocals and I like how the album has a very defined sense of despair despite what you generally get from such music.
Shame that they couldn't keep with that style and went totally downhill on everything after that album.

Hehe, I find it reassuring when staff members lock horns with each other. lol

As for this album, it's not as strong as the first two, or the album which followed it, but it's still a decent album in it's own right. Songs like Godpuppet and D.O.A. are modern thrash classics!

About RevolveR, I agree with Joe and the Doc that it is a great album. It was such a great comeback with Peter, and tracks like 99, Sabotage, and the twisted genius of Abysmal are amongst the bands greatest ever songs.

I actually haven't heard too much from The Haunted, but I remember the haunted made me do it being a really good album. I need to check their catalogue out.
We used the actually cover the instrumental track of the haunted made me do it.

I may be in the minority saying this but I believe this album to be maturer and more focused than the band's first two efforts. There's more versatility in the songwriting, and a lot more energetic performances scattered throughout, whereas before there were only a handful of songs worthwhile sitting through without any hesitation. There's still the same generic groove/thrash elements inherent here, but thankfully the worst moments are swept aside to make room for some actual innovation in the music, as opposed to before where the band would simply ape the more well-known bits of slayer and ATG. Highlights: "D.O.A.", "Demon Eyes" and "Downward Spiral".
