Being categorized as a band fully inspired by the music of another band, isn't good, I think the point in having your band is to create your own sound and if it's possible redefine a genre, or being a important part of it's evolution.
This is Penumbra, a French Gothic Metal outfit, in previous albums (2 of them) were catalogued as the "French Therion", which by the way, is not bad, since Therion rules. Anyway, they returned for the third time, and I can guess that they're tired of being compared to Therion, because they have evolved and the after mentioned comparisons can't be done anymore.

This bend is so much underated from what it's worth. And not well know to broader audience. For me, they are the dark horse of the gothic scene....there is no other band that provides the same ambient as Penumbra. The name fits perfectly with the sound and lyrics, and they are so different, so original from the rest. When listening to them, I really feel like I'm in dark ages

Best band in their genre... you can hear two "new" songs on youtube... these songs are awesome! but they called it quits  this album still falls in my top 5 female gothic albums... it slays me they called it quits .... Hail Penumbra! Seclusion 10/10 !
