A bit overrated I think. Many of the bluesy numbers are a bit stale to me. By Crawling King Snake, the appeal of the blues rock has worn off. I love Morrison's lyrics though. He doesn't ever give away much, but he drops each little bit of creativity very effectively. Highlights for me were The Changeling, Love Her Madly, L.A. Woman, and Riders on the Storm. It's just a really laid back and enjoyable album; you can tell that they were just having a good time recording this.

^ Crawling King Snake is not a Doors song, it's a John Lee Hooker cover version. It's well done by the Doors. I agree with the highlights you mentioned, another song i like is The Hyacinth House. L'America is pretty good too. Texas Radio and the Big Beat is pointless for me at least, these days.

Oh, yes I knew that John Doe. Still though, it's not like these blues songs have the same punishing quality, that say, Led Zeppelin's first album does. I also like Hyacinth House as well, really good lyrics on that song. Texas Radio is horrible.
