This beginning of the year was pretty good for one-man bands. We've had one man bands from China, Russia, France, Iran/Canada, and the USA. Now how about one from Malaysia?

This is quite an impressive album. The songwriting is emotive and unpredictable, it has a cool cosmic atmosphere at times and some of the solo's are outstanding, although very spontaneous. The transaction between "Reflection" and "Fear and Lead" is really quite bizarre though, it goes from an ambient instrumental piece to a sudden eruption into what seems like a mix of melodic death and progressive thrash There's some solid riffs and solo's on "Fear And Lead" though. I'm not too sure about the drumming quality either, the sound doesn't seem all that up to scratch imo, or at least doesn't match the music style.

This was the first album from Malaysian band I've ever heard and it was a pleasant surprise. I hear some despair in the cosmic atmosphere and there's also some great riffs. Vocals sound also good. I liked The Creature and Fear And Lead songs but some guitar work didn't work for me on last song and it was a little too hectic overall. Album cover is interesting. Best one-man band release this year so far

Some logistical incongruencies here as Andy mentioned particularly with the ambient intermission being followed up with this ill-fitting (but great sounding) up number that seems to pull more from Slayer and Voivod than Mare Cognitum.

The psychedelic guitar tone and muffled mix won't work for everyone but I can't imagine listening to this with a cleaner production, I think it would sound sterile by comparison. I'm just not sure as a whole that this works as an album should. It feels more like a collection of individual ideas instead of one cohesive story.

Great album from a country that I think I've never listened something before. Recommended to every black or death metal listener with trained ears.
