The return of the band with the big V from Down Under; Australia’s Voyager have been a steady prog machine since 1999. Daniel Estrin may be the only founding member left but the lineup has been steady since 2011. His unique voice, hairdo, and weird stylish keyboards are matched by Simone Dow incisive lead guitar licks. Their sound has shifted to a pop-influenced kind of prog metal over the years. So much so that they just represented their country at the Eurovision Song Contest with the single "Promise".

I thought "Prince Of Fire" was hot garbage on my first listen, but now I'm kinda enjoying it.

I can't get enough of it, already one of my favorite Voyager tracks! Submarine is also incredible. Dreamer still really hasn't grown on me much, but the other tracks that have been released so far have me very excited for the album!

Love this eighties pop tinged prog rock/metal... reminds me a bit of Vola sometimes...

Fun album. "Summer" metal, as I'd like to call it, lol.

Pretty good, not their best but has some really stellar tracks. The album feels a bit disjointed, especially compared to their previous couple of albums. There are tracks written for EuroVision like Dreamer and Promise which have a lighter more poppy sound to them. Those are mixed in with the typical Voyager tracks which are decently heavy like Prince of Fire, Ultraviolet and Twisted. Voyager hasn't lost its prog sound either with Submarine and Gren. I also can't help but feel like these tracks were all written and recorded throughout the last two years since the best tracks have been slowly released and advertised heavily in that time. Dreamer especially has been out for nearly two years now and is audibly louder than the tracks around it. Gives the album kind of a compilation feel to it.

On a more positive note, this really is more of an album of really great singles with tracks that should satisfy pretty much any Voyager fan.

My Highlights: Prince of Fire, Ultraviolet, Submarine, Twisted

I enjoyed it very much, it is as much Duran Duran / Tears for Fears as it is Devin Townsend / Vola. Just good songwriting and performances

I have to say I thought it was too much synt at the begining. However, with every listen I find it more and more enjoyable. Prince of fire and Twisted for me are the best songs. I think this sound is the natural evolution from Colours In The Sun and the Eurovision thing. There is not much left from the early Voyager. It is not a bad thing per se, but I understand this can make people not enjoy this album.

The symphonic tag confuses me.

Awesome album, not as good as "Ghost Mile," but much better than "Colours in the Sun." The secondary set of songs on the album are quite strong. Much better than the 7.2 rating the album has currently, but I suspect it is from the metal gatekeepers on this site.

The symphonic tag confuses me.

Agreed, way more Djent elements on this album than symphonic components.

Didn't think much to this at first, sounded a wee too repetitive, but it's definitely a grower for sure. It's wonderfully crafted and there are some new impressive elements I pick up on each listen.
