Mizmor, master of blackened doom, has opted for a slightly new approach. Is this simply another experiment or a lasting shift in the band's style?

A Real Mönkey
Hope for something on par with Yodh. I want to be steamrolled into oblivion.

Only had a first listen so far, but I really like it. The opening track was the standout for me. Surprised the rating is so low atm

I imagine if Burzum went all out doom it would sound something similar to this. The vocals have such power and emotion, and the production is so stripped back, raw and authentic, and the guitar tone creates a breathtaking sound. The songwriting is nothing new or exciting though, the riffs in general are quite bland, and nothing really stands out in the instrumentation imo, the atmosphere created by the vox, however, is great at times.

The lo-fi sound quality and vocals make up for what would have been another standard, bland blackened doom album IMO, if it had a modern quality production instead.
