A black cloud rolls in from Chile, rewarding open-minded listeners with thrash that's not only extremely fast and fun, but also very experimental and creative.

Two weeks before the end of the year, this is my thrash metal album of the year.

This is still good, but doesn't quite reach the level of So It Goes for me. Think the previous album is just that bit more interesting. Would probably pick Hellix over this at the moment.

It's either this, Horrendous newest or Hellix debut, for the title of the best thrash album of the year. Pretty good year for thrash overall.

Horrendous thrash? It's progressive death.

Their newest album has a lot of classic tech thrash influence all over it (lots of Coroner/Obliveon style riffing), enough to call it a Technical Thrash/Progressive Death record.

I listened to the album again to see if I missed something, but I'm sorry man, I just don't hear it. Would be interesting to hear if anyone else hears thrash in it. Either way, it's way better than this Demoniac album.

I feel like I remember picking up a degree of thrashiness in the latest Horrendous tbh, although I probably wouldn't call it a thrash album first and foremost

As far as Demoniac goes, I remember liking it at the time, particularly the second half of it, but I've been impressed by the strength in depth in the category this year and it's fallen a bit lower in my ranking for the year's albums
