One of the few bands who do symphonic death right - excited for their return.

If I didn't know better I would've thought I was listening to Gojira with symphonic elements, especially the first couple of tracks.

I was just about to write something similar. It's sounds a bit like Gojira at times, only less sad. Also, judging by the first couple of tracks, it's a bit of a stretch to call it Sympho DM. Semi Prog Melodeath is a more apt description I think.

EDIT: I gave it a few more spins over Christmas and I've done a complete 180 on this album. It's one of the best albums I've listened to all year.

The same year Septicflesh stopped releasing great records, this band drops an epic SepticLite album and they haven't slowed down since. I haven't heard the debut, but all 3 other releases are consistently quality. There was one track in this one that was a little below their standards, but it quickly picks up again. Definitely picking up more Gojira vibes this time around as Nejde pointed out.

Yeah as another commenter said, this is quite light in the symphonics department, especially when compared to their previous record. It's certainly not worse, it's actually quite solid. It lacks many standout moments, but it is well performed and produced, and provides enjoyment as semi-background music.

The Gojira+(Septicflesh/Lamb Of God/other sounds?) metal core is OK, but not particularly interesting; it feels like the symphonics become a bit more prominent as it goes on, and I prefer when they're present adding some gravitas (the LoG bits of We Are The Strangers, I can do without)

I'm hearing more Septicflesh than Gojira tbh but there's still an element of both, it just happens I'm not a fan of either of those bands though. This album isn't bad, it has some impressive moments, and it's definitely one of the better symphonic albums of 2023, it just lacks overall consistency.
