This album could have gone wrong in so many ways, and yet I feel it didn't go wrong at all. It might not excell at everything it attemps, but the fact that it's a least doing good in all the different genres it approaches is a exploit in itself. The goth rock influences especially were a lot of fun for me.

I read elsewhere that the album should have gone further in the fun direction to actually be good, but I actually don't like metal that's not serious at all, and find that Kadaverficker (that name is already too much fun for me) managed the perfect level of fun here, it's musical fun, but serious songwriting. They played with the genres, but made actual quality music.

What struck me the most on second listen today is that I felt like I knew some of the tracks since years already. I already kind of felt a nostalgia feeling towards songs I had just discovered days before, and I could almost sing along some choruses already. That could be seen as a sign that the music is overly simple, but I rather think that they managed to inject a surprising and healthy dose of catchyness of the wild mishmash that this album is.

Overall a very pleasant surprise, especially from a band that had been doing Grindcore only in the past. It was fun from being to end despite being on the lenghty side.
