I wonder why this is so underrated. Since the first time I heard it, I've always felt the album's more accessible and traditionally metal than Watching From A Distance. Sure, I prefer the latter: its production is superior, the songs more massive and anthemic, and the vocals reach new heights. But I imagine the people who have complaints about WFAD would like this better, since the riffs are more dynamic, the vocals aren't as "whiny" and it's much more metal than the power ballads they'd go on to make. Even if the production might make this the less "heavy" album of the two. The Face That Never Dies easily rivals the three first tracks of the next album.
