From its cover to its actual content, this album feels so average and meh to me. Saxon has done better stuff both before and after this sandwiched little album. Dogs of War might have its fans for sure, but I'm most certainly not one of them.

Weaker than Forever Free, it's suffers the same problem with dragging songs (even more on this one) and overall lack of highlights. The title track is an instant hit and The Great White Buffalo has a tasy main riff that could go on forever. Hold On is also a memorable melodic tune. The rest I could pretty much skip hearing again.
