The full name of this release is "Barathrum: Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultul Lapidem", which is an alchemical motto that translates to "Visit the interior of the earth and purifying you will find the hidden stone", and refers to a process of internal spiritual purification.

Original CD by Gothic Records was limited to 900 copies and didn't feature either the band's logo, or the album's title on it. However there is also Gothic Records version with the album title on the front cover. Picture LP limited to 800 copies (200 copies including a shirt and a patch). |

Absu is probably the only american BM band I've ever listened to, so I decided to try out their whole discography. This, their first is pretty damn good for a debut. Although the production (unsurprisingly) sounds raw, it can be overlooked by the atmosphere created here. 'Fantasizing...' is an absolute epic in its own right and closer 'An evolution of hearts' is symphonic yet eerie at the same time.
