This album... This album was THE thing that (along with Carcass' "Heartwork") defined melodic death metal. It marks a significant change in this previously recognized but ordinary death metal band with an occasional melodical throw-in. Rating: 8 A great album, but as it only has six songs and three live tracks, i feel as if its more of an EP. Nonetheless, the title track and 'The Swarm' are well executed songs, proving the distinct transition from the rawness of the preceding album and the pride of 'Slaughter of the Soul'.
