Lacuna Coil has a new album, I think I like it. I do, the Italian iconic historic Gothic act has released a new work and it's not that bad at all, yes, not t h a t bad. I once reviewed their first full-length album, the tender and warm In A Reverie which is at the beginning section of their artistic evolution scale and now here we have the steely and much more aggressive Shallow Life. The journey once taken on the same path side by side with their comrades The Gathering has been leading into a separate direction for a long time already but this is the furthest point from the warm and mellow poetry from their early days.
I'm sure their days of Metal are over. They clearly want to go into a more commercial rock direction and with this album that's exactly what they've done. I'll miss their old sound but hey, not all bands are destined to be Metal for their entire career.
It seems that it's a tradition for this band to have a song every album that doesnt match with album.
I like it in this album and closer in Karmacode. maybe these songs destroy the albums.but other songs of both these two last albums are great between similar bands with female vocalists... ..
20:24 - VezzyRattlehead I have a soft spot for Hendrix, Santana, The Doors, Daft Punk, Atari Teenage Riot, etc.
20:20 - MeloDeathViking I love non-metal stuff, up until a few years ago that's all i listened to, and I still listen to a lot, like Taylor Swift........maybe...... ..
20:19 - !J.O.O.E.! The other top 100 one contains quite a lot of non-metal so not sure anyone would appreciate that one. Yeah I do need to start thumbing up a bit more really.
20:16 - MeloDeathViking I still have to look at the other, I've decided to start voting for more lists, otherwise, why do we have the lists right?!?!
