I like this one although it was a step in a rather wrong direction - they became just a pop-rock band.

Last DL album worth listening to for me. I dislike what they released after Slang.

Incredible effort of hard rock. Look at the masterful song structures. Check out some of the best ballads since Hysteria. The grunge feel works for them at times, especially Pearl of Euphoria and Gift of Flesh. There's something raw, but contrived, to this album, that will always hold a strong place in my heart. But this recommendation goes with serious warning. If you are expecting heavy metal or even hard rock, you will likely be disappointed. This is not like early Leppard either; this is one of the last good efforts.

Very average album, especially by the band's standards.

Very average album, especially by the band's standards.

I have never listened to this album and probably never will, but taking a quick look at the lyrics I am pleasantly surprised, at least until now pretty much all DL lyrics I have checked out turned to be downright ridiculously terrible, while some of this is pretty nice actually.

I tried listening to this a couple of days ago, gave up half way through, unlistenable these days.
While I did respect them for trying new things, they did it for the wrong reasons. Obviously, like someone pointed out above, it's because of the 90s alternative/grunge scene, but Def Leppard should have stuck to their sound (which, funny thing they did eventually )
