Staff pick by

19.03.2010 a nice raging slab, Static Tensions retains a more raw sludge approach when compared to their fellow Georgians Baroness' and Mastodon's 2009 releases. Some great riffs, two drummers drumming, and harsh shouted male throat work balanced with some pleasant female vocals make for a compelling and enjoyable listen.

First half of the album, apart from the opener is pretty shite. It starts to pick up again after running red.
BloodJuNkie - 22.12.2013 at 14:34
In my humble opinion this album would be better with other vocalist than this one!
Alex Fenger - 08.08.2014 at 04:10
Rating: 9 This album never gets old
Lit. - 08.08.2014 at 05:36
This album got old for me the first spin. It's not bad, but I got the whole "Why should I listen to this when there's better bands out there?"
Pazdzioch - 08.08.2014 at 17:44
I'm closer to the statement: "I must listen to this because there's no better bands out skillfully combining psychedelia and sludge".
Troy Killjoy - 08.08.2014 at 17:50
Ya, Kylesa are pretty great at what they do. Lit. just never has anything positive to say about anything on here.

Yeah fuck off Lit. No one does what Kylesa do as well as Kylesa does....

Rating: 8 I would love to know the names of the better bands, because if they're just as good as this, I'm interested.
!J.O.O.E.! - 11.09.2014 at 02:30
Rating: 8 In terms of psychedelic sludge SubRosa and Bloody Panda are the only Kylesa-toppers I can think of, but then they all sound a bit different to Kylesa anyway.
Ilham - 11.09.2014 at 02:32
Rating: 8 Yeah it's not exactly the same thing really. Wouldn't say they top them either, never actually put them in comparison.
Boxcar Willy - 11.09.2014 at 06:36
Rating: 9 Great album, but question...

Ky-less-a or Ky-lee-sa?
