Almost 20 years in activity and still the Swedish group has a tremendous problem with frustrating the listeners. Once again, the band named after a Babylonian God released an album honoring a putrid aspect of the Bible, as Wormwood is the name given to the star that falls upon Earth, poisoning a huge amount of water, according to the Book of Revelation. Which means: ''nothing to do with drinking absinthe'' as Håkansson made very clear in a interview.

Just excellent! Lots of variation of riffs, vocals and atmosphere. And the same chaotic death/black that Marduk does so well

Big disappointment for me - sounds like an album comprised of songs that didn't make the cut for Rom 5:12, or maybe they just set the bar too high for themselves with that release. I want more choirs!!!

I love the vocals though and it's still enjoyable to listen to every once in a while.

Love this album. Its not quite a Rom 5:12..it has got abit of an industrial sound to it which was not present in the previous album. The riffing is spectacular..

It's not fair to compare it with ROM 5:12 because that one in my opinion is the best Marduk piece of work in their all career. But anyway this one also is OK for me.. Funeral Dawn is my favorite track of this album which is an insane song in my opinion.. And also Unclosing the Curse is another highlight in my view..

Got Mayhem?

This is Arioch turning Marduk into Funeral Mist. I like both bands and therefore I'd like for them to sound seperate.

In Fallout: New Vegas, at Vault 3 on the wall it says "Marduk 999" with a line over the 999 so its like you're supposed to flip it around, i laughed at that.
