One should not make a habit of reviewing things he loves. Love, in its indescribable way, might well fall into the category of the irrational - alongside nostalgia and fear of brooms, no doubt. An album reviewer's goal should be to do the impossible: to write objectively about what is entirely subjective (I think the number of Summoning fans here is testament to this distressing fact). Let me do what too many do already, and turn to a rather ironic quote from Two Gentlemen of Verona: "Thou wouldst as soon go kindle fire with snow, as seek to quench the fire of love with words." Nevertheless, as that 10 to the side of this text blindingly illuminates, I will here be writing about an album that I love.

Excellent album. It's very consistent and the guitar tone throughout is eccentric. What I personally think the highlights of the album though are in fact the longer songs such as 'The regulator' and 'Ghost', which are both structure beautifully and written brilliantly. That's not to say songs like 'The mob goes wild' or 'Profits of doom' don't justify the band's musical success however, because they certainly do. I just think that Clutch are in their element when they perform the slower, tenser songs. Still an awesome band whichever song they play though.

This album is great fun! One to play on a car radio with the windows down on a summer's day.

8.7/10 for me - 'The Regulator' is the standout track. 'Profits of Doom', 'Cypress Grove', 'Army of Bono' and 'Subtle Hustle' are all also great.
