Motörhead are the same as a lot of long running bands. Every year or two they release an album, you know you're going to be in for a nice treat when you listen to it, but above all, you know you're not in for any surprises. Though, unlike many of these old school acts, with Motörhead there's always fluctuation in quality from album to album, where it's almost created a pattern in itself. Let's take a look; Inferno was just pure brilliance, probably one of the best albums of Lemmy's career, then came Kiss Of Death - the quality slightly dipped, but still offered a lot. Then came Motorizer; it was OK, but also had too much filler to be up for any awards. Now, right on the 2 year schedule we have the newest offering - The World Is Yours. Sorry to say folks, but this has to be one of the most uninspired records the great 'Head has ever produced.

Motorhead - Aces Up My Sleeve (Release August 16 2010 by Sanctuary Records)
2010 celebrates the 35th anniversary since the former Hawkwind bassist and Jimi Hendrix roadie, put together one of the loudest, nastiest & filthiest sounding bands of all time to. That man is - Lemmy and the band are Motorhead. It seems appropriate to look back once more at the incredible legacy this lot have left us. You'll know all the tracks inside out including 'Ace Of Spades', which is bigger, brighter and better as the years go by. 'Eat The Rich' to 'Bomber', 'Iron Fist' to 'Killed By Death', 'Overkill' to 'Stay Clean'they're each fully matured and individual, albeit clearly belong to the same band. This compilation spans the ten-year period from the 1977 single 'Leaving Here' [their first single] to the aforementioned 'Eat The Rich'. Each track is unique, every song is special. A period of tremendous activity and dynamic from one of our greatest ever bands.

What? How have you managed to hear it? :\

I would say that "Sacrifice" is one of the weaker Motorhead albums, although "Out Of The Sun" is an awesome track from it. xD

Haha, that's like saying "compose your own Metal album and upload it here, instead of writing a review of an album".

There always gonna be someone who will like every crap but it doesn't change my opinion. I'm a Motörhead fan ever since I remember. I know every single album and track they've done. And after great Inferno and Kiss Of Death we've had mediocre Motörizer and now we have this one which is just weak. They should have give themselves some more time cause they sound just tired and they're completely out of ideas for good songs

Brotherhood of man also was pretty sick

The word gen means "illusion" or "apparition." In India, a man who uses conjury is called a genjutsushi ["a master of illusion technique"]. Everything in this world is but a marionette show. Thus we use the word gen.

Basically following the same structure set by the previous three releases, 'The world is yours' doesn't offer anything new or fresh-then again, Motorhead have never been a band that ever really changed the way they play music. Except for the deeper-than-usual vocals of Lemmy as sung on 'Brotherhood of man', every one of these songs are either as heavy as motorhead can get or as fast as they can get. In some people's eyes, that's all that is needed-in others', it makes the music boring. I'm kinda 50/50, as i accept motorhead never really will change their sound, yet their musical performance is always top notch.

A Nice Guy
I was expecting by this point in their career, they would run out of steam, and unlike most aging metal and rock bands that wasn't the case, they had no indication of letting off steam, and kept to their same old heavy formula they used on their previous albums, and although it began to sound generic, it still sounded good, and worked very well for them, so they never felt the need to change their style, and why should they of?

This album may not be their best work, but it's still damn good, and importantly it was consistent, it had quality riffs, great drum and bass, great tempo and was heavy. There's a few average tracks on here, but most of the tracks are quality. "Born To Lose", "I Know How To Die", and "Brotherhood Of Man" and my favourites.
