Lock up your daughters, The Crown are back. Reunited, the band presents us with their first album in seven years. It was worth the wait. Back with their original line-up minus one, Doomsday King is The Crown in all their glory through and through.
It is like the band have never been apart, Doomsday King is a quintessentially Swedish death metal album with all the attitude, infectious crushing riffs and brutality we know the band for. From start to finish there is no remorse; "Angel Of Death 1839" and "Age Of Iron" are two of the most ferocious yet hauntingly memorable songs on the album and sets the tone for the rest. "Soul Slasher" and "Through The Eyes Of Oblivion" continue in similar violent fashion as the Swedes take us back in time and give us that feeling of when we first got into this band who undeservedly didn't get the credit they deserved when they split up six years ago.
