Additional info
Their first Techno-oriented album.

On the back of the album's casing, "Space Age" is written in Russian: "Космическая эра"; moreover, words "Гагарин, Гречко, Леонов, Лайка, Белка и Стрелка" ("Gagarin, Grechko, Leonov, Laika, Belka and Strelka") are recited throughout the song.
The song "Commute" has a line "It's more fun to commute" in its lyrics, possibly a reference to Kraftwerk's It's more fun to compute from their Computer World album, which in turn is a reference to "It's more fun to compete" found on old pinball machines.

The correct spelling for the title, as can be seen on the cover art, is "['mju:zik]", the phonetic version of "musique" (French) or "music" (English).

Now, I don's think anybody expected this one. Here was Theatre of Tragedy, truly at the top of the heap of the Goth Metal movement. They had their own unique style, blending evocative and, admittedly, occasionally overblown Olde English-themed lyrics and a tight, doomy/gothic vibe. In 1998, they released what many consider their seminal work, the beautifully gloomy Aegis. Perhaps then they realized they could do no better in the sub-genre they had helped to create and, in 2000, decided to throw it all out the window.

OK Here is ToT , pure gothic music with a pinch of doomy atmosphere and the chilling "beauty and the beast" duo and all of a sudden they decide to produce an Electro-Goth album (dont even know that exists or not!). listening to their previous albums , it would give you the feeling of what a good gothic music should be .now its like you just wanna dance. this might put you in a dilemma wether to call it ToT or not. its like their panic button they wanted freedom ; they expressed it and bend the boundries and made somthing different.
if u look at it with an "open mind" its not bad.not good.average.afterall i believe this is not what ToT used to sound like.

Damn... I'm surprised how much I enjoyed it after giving it a new listen after many many years hahahaha. I can totally understand why everybody hates it specially after the fantastic Aegis. But... I dont know. Some tracks are just deliciously catchy. They did the whole electronic stuff better on Assembly but this is good too if you like catchy and sugary electronic stuff and can be able to throw away the band name. xP

I had an epiphany about Musique while I watched a documentary about Kraftwerk a few days ago... I think Musique is a Kraftwerk homage.

I didn't think it was nearly as bad as the rating suggests, i actually enjoyed it. Although the male vocals annoyed me here and there and the techno elements took me a bit to get used to.
