Rocking all the way through, just a never-ending groove of hard rock riffs proggified and moulded into one of the best driving albums in the history of albums. or driving. Highly recommended!!!

Definitely one of their best albums. And their first album with really strong guitars; heavy riffing almost like HM at some parts and killer solos.

I don't believe it would be an overstatement, if I said that this is one of the best bluesy hard rock albums ever recorded.
My favourite tracks: Jailbreak, Running Back, Romeo and the Lonely Girl, The Boys Are Back in Town, Fight or Fall, Emerald.

Long time ago I did listen and actually I miss how good this band was. Its simply, few Irish beer drinking boys, simple riffs what rocked and simple lyrics. Its awesome. Cant judge iof its best album, maybe no, But its good and pretty strong as album.
Best songs: 01. Jailbreak, 04. Romeo And The Lonely Girl, 06. The Boys Are Back In Town and 08. Cowboy Song

An interesting thing about The Boys Are Back In Town is that the band didn't want to have it on the album originally, and I would've agreed on that choice -- https://www.loudersound.com/news/thin-lizzy-nearly-dropped-the-boys-are-back-in-town -- and it became probably the most known song from the band. I don't like the song personally at all, maybe heard it three times only and it got annoying really fast, the chorus sounds super weak and repetitive and the vocal effect don't fit TL.
My favorite songs are: Emerald, Jailbreak & Cowboy Song

I agree, the only thing I like about "The Boys Are Back In Town" is the main riff, which isn't all that great tbh, the lyrics and the chorus are super cringy. But as is often the case with these songs they become super catchy and radio friendly,
so they appeal to a wider audience, just like "Paranoid" for instance. "Emerald" is by far my favourite song on the album, such an underrated hard rock classic.

I would rarely call out a song as bad even if it's one of those obvious attempts at making a band / artist popular, I almost always like the "hit songs" to some degree. The Boys Are Back In Town on the other hand has to be one of the most overrated songs I've ever heard in this genre.

Yes, indeed, Emerald is the most interesting song on this album. Jailbreak and Cowboy Song are also great. The rest doesnt quite do much for me.

Just want to pop in and say that although there are many great tracks on this album, Cowboy Song hits me in a way very few songs ever have.
My dad says he and his friends used to play it in the 1970s at 3AM at parties to see who was "still awake." Kinda makes me laugh. He's not a metalhead.
