God damn, GTT really is a band for headphones. How he packs so many details, sounds and textures into his work and maintains vast distances between each of them is truly a feat of genius engineering. Really like this EP. Mostly black metal oriented but using lots of really low frequency, bassy elements as the melodies.

'Blood Drenched Altars' is insidiously catchy black metal, and 'Knife... Martyr... Despair' is ultra-bassy and driving but having an almost Soviet-like underlying melody and quality before slowing down and opening up and expanding on it even further. Super good, definitely one of the coolest GTT songs. 'Dawn Breaks Open Like A Wound That Bleeds Afresh' has a fantastic, pulsing death industrial vibe before breaking out into some very nice sweeping black metal and finishing on a typical harmonious / disharmonious snaking of layers. Sounds like it would belong on a De Magia Veterum album.
