Hate it, especially their "hit": Take This Life

This album is just a matter of perspective. You could look at it like 'This is absolute garbage.' OR you can look at it like 'Proud of In Flames for changing their style, it takes guts, even though this wasn't my favorite album of theirs.' BUT it is all a matter of perspective and taste.

I can not agree with Herzebeth. If you awared of the history of In Flames and Dark Tranquillity, I believe you knew that the vocalist of In Flames was Dark Tranquillity's vocalist for their debut album. However, both bands are playing Scanadivian Metal but in different musical elements involved.
To be frank, I prefer DK's music composition. Come Clarity is not a Metalcore-style music composition, many listeners only recognised the way the vocalist sing (clear & harsh vocals), but neglect the most important part - The music composition. Come Clarity is considered a challeging album to DK, showing DK it is their (In Flames) option if they want to do something similar to DK, and they are capable if they want to...
Only the title song sounds similar to Metalcore, the rest is still considered very pure Scanadivian. This is definitely an underrated In Flames in Dark Tranquillity's style album.
* Reminder : Metalcore has a very obvious musical part to be identified - The tempo of music tend to be fast and suddently reduced to normal and bring in a clear vocals, and again go back to a harsh, heavy and fast pace. The joints in between in Fast-Heavy harsh and Slow clear vocals are pretty hard to compose and operate it 'smoothly". guess that's why so few good Metalcore bands around.

this sounds absolutely nothing like Dark Tranquility. It isn't fit to lick the toes if the weakest DT album either. It's a thoroughly God-awful album from beginning to end irrespective of the band's history.

Probably you have not listened enough of Scanadivian Metal or did not know what the hell they were doing when you were listening. You got to work harder !

Says the person that just gave one if the most superficial and incorrect descriptions of metalcore I've ever seen who clearly thinks all metalcore is KSE clones
I don't know how old you are but I suspect I was listening to In Flames and Dark Tranquility before you were even a teenager. But please, carry on making baseless personal remarks as a way of qualifying your bad analyses.

This is actually a good album to judge the standard of comprehension and capability of appreciation of a Rock & Metal listener. You failed as you got 30% out of 100%.

Indeed. And besides, we have both already correctly identified STtYE as In Flames' underrated record

this one really sounds nothing like any Dark tranquillity album whatsoever.
Come Clarity clearly is quite metalcore and has nothing to do with melodic death metal or Gothenburg metal any more.
And yes I have been floowing both Dark tranquillity and In Flames right from their demo days.

Their only album that deserves to be called underrated tbh... All the others have been judged quite accurately. Well, I don't like Clayman as much as the average fella but I do understand why people love it.

Not a good idea, we still need average listeners to support this site.
