Great album! Although I think Goi, Rode, Goi is a bit more cohesive, this album has a more mature and polished sound, and is thankfully not 80 minutes long

As I type I am giving it my first listen, and I am loving it. Goi, Rode, Goi had gotten dirtier and heavier than earlier albums, and I was wondering if it was an indication of what was to come. The answer is no. If anything the production is cleaner than before and the tracks are more varied. Not ready to form a full judgment yet, but the first impression is very favorable.

I don't get why this album is getting slightly negative reviews on other websites. All people keep complaining about is the "lack of cohesion" on the album. I mean, who the hell cares ?? I personally, love this album.

Agreed. This one actually has more in common with Ot Serdca K Nebu than Goi, Rode, Goi, which was quite a shift in the band's attitude.

Hmmm... I think it's the most mature Arkona's album. Splendid orchestrations, less screems more singing, less chaotic and much more climatic. I wait with my opinion since I've listen to it several times cause initialy I thought Goi Rode Goi is the best album I've ever heard from Arkona, but after few listening this album sounds also great or even better as closed material. And this unique climate... Like during some ancient sacred slavic ceremony!

Arkona shows that the band keeps progressing and maturing both in performance and in songwriting. They've taken a firm hold on leadership in Russian pagan metal scene combining in their music all the best qualities of it. This year brought us quite a few strong pagan metal albums (Moonsorrow, Primordial) and "Slovo" definitely stands proudly among them.

A few hiccups towards the end of the album, but overall very, very good. Their best album to date for sure. And unlike their last album, it doesn't feel a thousand years long when listened to in one sitting! :3
Oh and PS
Tam Za Tumanami is butt-fucking awesome.

I would say the opposite, lol. For me the ending was strong, but the rest was a mixed bag.
