Sarpanitum's debut album Despoilment Of Origin was a welcome injection to the UK's death metal scene; an extremely accomplished, crushing slab of metal. Four years on and after numerous line-up changes and a two year hiatus, Sarpanitum are back and working on a new album. This Fidelium EP then, is presumably a taste of things to come.

Their sophomore album is going to be an absolute belter if this EP is anything to go by.

Still hoping the new album carries on from this EP. How good.

I didn't even know they released something after the début. Which I love by the way.

Yeah the debut was quite nice. I recall getting it free with a subscription to Zero Tolerance magazine (or Terrorizer, I forget which).

This EP seemed to expand them out of the Nile / Behemoth homage territory though.

Good to know, I should listen to this before the new album goes out then.

Listening to it again they seem to have gone a little in Mithras' direction. Which is no bad thing.
Ilham - 05.01.2015 at 01:09
Great, I absolutely love Mithras, and even was content enough with just the Nile / early Behemoth influences. I'm like, totally, like, stoked for the new album and this then.

The last track is an absolute stonker.

Such a great track(probably will be my favorite) off this ep. Gettin' regular updates on band's FB and it'll be super fun to listen new bomb dropping in 2015.
