A gem of a band you might have overlooked in the past. Excellent song-writing, beautiful and haunting melodies supplied by the cello, varying songs, a bit doomy, a bit proggy - this here is a great post metal blend to accompany you as we near the longest night of the year. Yes, it's a short release, and yes, it does lose some edge towards the end. Still worth your time, though.

I really enjoyed the first two tracks but then it seemed to take a little dive towards the end. A very quirky mix of prog and sludge heavily reliant on a hazy atmosphere...semi-sleep inducing in a relaxing way, like the kind of album you'd want on in the background as you're reading Hemingway.

Fantastic album, and an improvement over their last effort. This really peaks at 'Snakehead' for me, there's bits of that one which remind me of Alchemist and I really like that 'Oriental' vibe they've got going in there too.

I give it a 9 because it was too short. I felt myself wanting more and it felt incomplete, especially compared to the Ichtyologist. Aside from that. I loved every song

Very good little EP, seems like Giant Squid are getting a lot more comfortable as musicians these days. Everything feels very natural here.
