I know that this will be a good album!

proof: Arcana (2002) - good, Aphelion (2003) - bad, Shine (2004) - good, The Grand Design (2006) - bad, MyEarthDream (2008) - good, Solitaire (2010) - bad, The Bonding (2013) - good!

I'm through the first listening and kind of disappointed.

This is the STYLE of Edenbridge that I wanted (very similar to their last two), but very little of it was memorable. I remember being blown away by other Edenbridge albums after just one listen, but this one just feels kind of generic after the first go, save it for maybe "Into a Sea of Souls."

Well I believe it is time we have to finally agree that Lanvall have lost his inspiration. Edenbridge has 3 masterpieces - Sunrise in Eden, Shine and My Earth Dream. Then there are THe Grand Design, which was a great experiment with some amazing songs. And there are all the other that fits and keeps Edenbridge style, but lacks a good songwriting. "Bonding" is good, it has everything you expect from Edenbridge, but it is not catchy anymore. And it's a second abum in a row with the same feeling. I am starting to fear, that this i the end of Edenbridge.

'My Earth Dream' a masterpiece? Worst album imo, though 'The Bonding' might just be worse (by worse i don't mean bad). Switch 'My Earth Dream' for 'Arcana' in your list and i would agree.

Edenbridge are certainly becoming bland, with 4 albums of roughly the same style in a row, none of which are overly impressive. Even though 'The Grand Design' was a big change, it was welcome imo despite the album not being as good as the previous ones. Then came 3 more albums, all indistinguishable. 'Solitaire' and 'The Bonding' were just unfortunate to have been released last, with most fans getting tired of the same song styles being rehashed. They are by no means bad at all, but it's just not memorable! I think Solitaire was probably my favourite from the last 4 albums, because it had some relatively catchy songs and probably the best solos off any album.

On my first listen... so far: AMAZING! These songs are epic like MyEarthDream. But way heavier. Whew

thanks for agreeing since my comment i listened the album many times, and although I would say it's better than Solitaire (so I was right ), it's still not the quality of Shine or MyEarthDream. Nice to listen to, but nothing memorable...
Although the male vocalist was a nice surprise for me in the last song, I thought he was the guy from Serenity (Lanvall was one of the writers in their album Fallen Sanctuary , so it would be logical ), but turns out he is Erik Martensson from Eclipse.
did you like him? i which he was featured more...

Not bad, but a step downwards compared to Solitaire. Well, it is better than Aphelion and on par with The Grand Design.

The opening riff of "Alight A New Tomorrow" sounds extremely much to me like one of the Tristania's riffs of the first albums, not sure about which one.
