That part has a strong Pain Of Salvation sound to it. MOST glad you like it. Spreading it further...

True. They totally deserve some promotion, I'm already collaborating with the cause in the Argentinian end of the world.

Progressive metal is a difficult genre for me since I usually don't have enough patience to give most of the stuff an honest chance. I am very picky but every once in a while I stumble across a band that manages to grab my attention from the very beginning.
Dissona certainly did this and also succeeded to keep my interest throughout the albums duration. I really like the constant shifts that goes in within the songs both instrumentally and vocally. The music is harsh, soft and sometimes just plain wacky. I never felt that it went over the top however which gave a sense of cohesiveness to the madness.

for you sir, and always nice to know people go out of their way to enjoy some prog.
If this album were a person, I'd do obscene things with it.
Obscene = eating obscene amounts of candy, watching the extended editions of LotR, making bad puns about various characters' sexual orientation and brofisting each other in mutual awesomeness.

My impression after some 5 listens: first track is outstanding, the rest is a mishmash...

I got that impression as well, however, it's not simply about repeated listens. Rather, you should take some time between each listen. I'm still having a difficult time rating each track, but a few of them are slowly becoming more intelligible. It's prog metal after all Before I became a prog metal addict, it took me years to even appreciate the genre...

Yes, I understand that it is important to take some time before listens, and that's how I usually get into albums, but this is one is something... will give it another listen soon.

I hope I didn't come across as patronising, just trying to help. Nearly gave this album a 7 as I was quite frustrated with its inaccessibly, but now I'm considering a 9 or so...anyways, I hope you can enjoy it soon mate

Not ashamed about giving this a 10, in retrospect. A classic album, and based on the number of listens I have given it, it is timeless to me.

The quality here is massive, no doubt.
But probably the main influences to the songwriting are not my favourite ones, so I cannot enjoy it fully.
