Atreyu is a band that gained certain popularity among Metalheads with their previous release "Suicide Notes And Butterfly Kisses", I haven't heard that record, but I'm sure it was way much better than this, because "The Curse" is everything but spectacular. Oh, and of course, in case you haven't read well the upper part, this is Metalcore, so old Metalheads, you can stop reading right now.

The guitar work here is very nice and melodic, but the vocals just ruin it for me.

I'm thinking of listening to shadow fall's discography again sometime soon-no idea why the majority is a 1. surely they aren't deserving of that score:P

I've always found them to be the most listenable band of their type (metalcore to most people, alternative thrash to me). But yeah, the The Art of Balance is pretty boss.

Despised Icon's Consumed By Your Poison and WoY's Allure Of The Earth are up there too.
They're all on the same level.
