My first impression of Democratic Solution was that it reminded me of the music I would hear while playing "Sonic the Hedgehog" games years ago. It has that bright, cheesy, synthesized feeling that would not be out of place behind many beloved video games of the early '90s. This is not exactly beneficial, however; it has more in common with the soundtrack of a Ukrainian carousel than with a genuine !T.O.O.H.! album.

  "FIRST AND LAST
Hi, yesterday's show in Ostrava ended disastrously.
It was a kind of test, in which we failed. We found out that his brother's illness is incompatible with live performance.
Humanoid was after the performance hugely frustrated. He can't give his usual performance -it's for him too stressful.
Exist as studio project it is for him pointless. Democratic Solution will be our farewell.
Awaits us now still some work / vocals, mixing, the overall sound..."

Opening track sounds odd:

Genuinely not sure what to make of that.
IronAngel - 04.06.2013 at 22:56
Pretty surprising. I do like it. The chorus or whatever starting at 2:40 is a bit too much, perhaps. The sound is neat, so blatantly artificial and warm at the same time.
Pazdzioch - 13.08.2013 at 22:33
They give us a full album for free on their fb page!
psykometal - 13.08.2013 at 22:51
Definitely an odd sound they chose to go with...

BoxCar Willy - 13.08.2013 at 23:59
Rating: 5 Almost completely dominated with cleans, which are just plain bad a lot of the time. The guitar is buried behind everything and is a vague buzz throughout the whole album, the drums are just a continuous blast. Disappointed to say the least.

A few choruses and verses are really catchy (especially Kokarda pýchy) , but this is just so lackluster, it makes me sad to think that this is their swansong.

Can't believe they used to sound like this.

But for the time being.....

Basically my reaction. I definitely don't dislike it... But I have to listen to it several times because I have no idea how I really feel about it.

The song they released a while back pretty much confirmed that they wouldn't be tackling an older style, so my expectations basically settled down over the months. There's genuine cool moments here, like Marš pucfleku!'s really weird synth bits. Sounds like a video game or something.
Alex Fenger - 14.08.2013 at 16:15
Rating: 4 Sadly I'm with tanner on this one. Very little I could salvage that I found enjoyable. However it isn't terrible, and like Joe said, its really weird, and weird is good. Disappointed, but intrigued
Array - 14.08.2013 at 16:20
Rating: 6 Weird can be good, but weird can be plain ridiculous and stupid wankery as well. This album, though, is good in the weirdness department, lacks a bit in the songwriting sector.
D. Monique - 14.08.2013 at 20:00
Rating: 6 I agree that this is kind of weird but not in a good way. It's probably the biggest disappointment of this year (so far).
Rulatore - 15.08.2013 at 05:38
Rating: 5 The most annoying thing here, is the absence of guitars.

Just like Lulu, right?
This situation reminds me a lot to Lulu, but in this case the few ears the album reaches will probably give it as much chances as possible to like the album; unlike the other one where 2 minutes of a song was already worth a 2 score for the whole album.
Mr. Doctor - 15.08.2013 at 09:24

...And undoubtedly, this album will get a higher score because the band is more br00tal than Metallica.

I really like it. I like Order and Punishment, and this album is completely strange, and amazing. It seems strange and at the same time very honest, and "close". It was, obviously, recorded with the minimum resources (I dont know if it was their intention, but suspect that it did not matter to them, at all), all in digital, in a computer, with guitars in line (without amps, mics), bass programmed, drums were played on a pads drum and programmed too, and vocals as simple as they could. Sometimes, they recorded two vocals at the same time.

It is strange? Yes. If you want to listen to music that is pleasant to your brain, ears, there is a lot out there. Probably, Amon Amarth has new record...

This album is dense, very creative, and I really like it. But I understand who don't.

Rating: 5 One word to describe this album. Disappointment.
LeChron James - 08.09.2013 at 05:19
Rating: 5 I think the reason that this albums sounds the way it does is due to the singer's schizophrenia. if he's taking his meds like he's supposed to, those meds fuck with your head SUPER hard. So what you're hearing is medicated paranoid (or whatever type of schizophrenia he has) schizophrenia.

LA LA LA LA, LA LA LA LA.
PRAVO.

...So yeah, back on topic. Weird album! Still don't know how much I like it or not. I don't hate it though, that's for sure.
