So here it is, Finntroll's sophomore effort, considered by many to be Finntroll's greatest work to date, from a band which always has a special place in my heart. There later album "Nattfodd" along with Opeth's "Still Life" are the albums that got me accustomed to harsh vocals, which in turn opened the doors for alot of musical enjoyment in the extreme metal side of things.

This album is a great example of Finntroll's trademark sound, and although some songs aren't necessary to be on the album, there is a lot of diverse musicianship on offer here.

If I'd have to choose my absolute favourite folk metal album I think this album would have the biggest chance to win. It has nice folk melodies, some pretty wicked riffs, pounding rhythm section and troll-like vocals of Katla.

While I do like Nattfödd more then this album I still Think Jaktens Tid is a given Close second. Jaktens Tid has more greatness spread out through out the album. While Nattfödd had majority of it's greatness put into certain songs. It's Trollhammaren that does the trick for me flipping me over to liking Nattfödd more. But Jaktens Tid is a absolute master piece. I wish someday we'd get something even coming Close to this.

This is their best album IMO. I remember listening to this thing all the time back in the day. The title track especially is among their best songs ever, a timeless classic.

Haven't seen them live for years now, but they used to be one of the absolute best metal live acts in Finland back in the early 2000's.
