The dense, suffocating atmosphere of H.P. Lovecraft's stories has finally found a good sonic equivalent - death metal with quite a bit of black thrown in the mix. Add expert execution and appropriately oppressive production and you get a winner.

Where did you see that? It's already available on iTunes since 12/28.

Edit: I found the post but I think that is for purchase through the label only cuz it is still available for purchase from iTunes.

The physical CD release is Jan 11th but was available via digital download on the 28th of Dec (this according to their Facebook).

I guess it's technically a 2012 release then.

No kidding! I love the production on this album because of that very reason, suits the artwork so freakin' well...

Can make it a little difficult to distinguish all aspects of their sound but yeah that density to the production makes Cthulhu feel right at home.

Well I listen to a lot of brutal death metal and used to listen to lots of lo-fi black metal so I guess I'm used to murkier production qualities so I'm not struggling so much to hear it all.

Ironically they posted a link on their Facebook to a review from some dude calling this one of the shittiest albums ever produced because the production is horribly bad. I really wanted to comment that the production is part of what makes this album so awesome and that the production is not shitty but quite ingenius of a choice due to their choice of artwork and lyrical content but I figure the guy would've just potshot me for praising an album he is obviously incapable of appreciating at all.

I've listened to this album 10 minutes ago and it was a great surprise no doubt. The song "incantation" is just beautiful.

Awesome. I love the production. This is high quality death metal, heavy as hell, and great musicianship.

As others have pointed out, this has some amazing murky and oppressive production - quality death metal!
