So glad to feel excited about a Kataklysm album again. The snippet in the news article is quite promising. The last album was s uch a let down.

Max is out of the band (Not Permanently) for the 3rd time! The new Drummer sounds insane and this is reminding of 'Serenity & Fire'. Where they brought in a new drummer and it simply put Kataklysm on the map. I'm hoping that this new record does that once more, God knows that it wouldn't hurt this band to gain back some of their old fans

No kidding!!! After Serenity & Fire's occurrence of that, if this album ends up seeing Kataklysm kicking ass again, I am going to boycott and recommend that they kick Max out for good.

Ever since he came back with 'In The Arms of Devastation' the drums are just over produced and to be honest i felt like the rest of the band sounded the same ... Every Guitar lick has to be perfect etc ..I miss when these guys were playing with not only a raw sound, but raw emotions. Big hopes for this new record

The drumming here is somewhat different, not that much, but thankfully isn't Max. It's their best since I don't know when, they've been releasing so many shitty albums lately that this one, even being little above average, sounds good.

Just started into this, so far so good. It's not their best work, but definitely better than the last 2, maybe even the last 3; I actually quite enjoyed In The Arms Of Devastation but that may just be because that was my first experience with the band.

Definitely thinking they should probably kick Max out, I'd say it's safe to say his drinking is affecting more than just his ability to tour.

I was just watching their 'Iron Will' and Max was certain that he will never leave the band for the 3rd fucking time and how they each feel that Kataklysm is a family. We'll see. I can't wait for this! High hopes after listening to 'Kill the Elite & Elevate'. To me they just started to seem less passionate with their last 3 albums, but like i said i have high hopes

Deep down i know that it wont be a return to form. Maurizo said on 'Iron Will' that 'Temple of Knowledge' saw the band reach their peak and that the could never top that. In a way i understand but at the same time i feel like after 20 years you can still show us what you have left in you after all of these years

I was surprised, "Under Lawless Skies" is almost metalcore-ish.
Kind of bland album though. Pretty catchy, but I agree with deadone, "pointlessness" is an apt word here.

I seem to be one of the few who actually enjoyed Heaven's Venom...

This album felt like it was a death metal/metalcore mix at points. Some of it was bad, most of it was good.
