I don't listen to Red Fang much anymore. Getting thrown out of one of their shows in Portland for "being too drunk" * played a key role in one of those extraterrestrially brutal and lingering hangovers I imagine old on-the-wagon-ites like to talk about. And I really do mean "lingering." It's to this day, roughly two years later, made putting on Murder The Mountains, one of my former go-to drinking soundtracks, a trigger for headaches and embarrassment. It's a real motherfucker.

I don't think this album is "Doom" at all, just Stoner Metal/Rock. But indeed, it is a very catchy and nice album.

  Very heavy stuff here
TheCybershifter - 24.10.2013 at 13:33
Rating: 6 Very average. They are boring, humourless version of themselves mixed with pseudo-Mastodon sound. First two albums are much better.

Rating: 8 Awesome album. Most of the songs have a good, hard drive and wouldn't be quite as heavy or indeed effective without that solid rhythm section. Admittedly this is the first release I've listened to the band, so I assume the previous two albums are just as good. That said, 'Doen', 'No hope', 'Dawn rising' and '1516' are all absolute belters.

Rating: 7 Well, record is good no doubt about it. But, then it was nothing new. I felt new album made up of rehashing older materials, good mixing and little bit innovation done here and there out made Whales And Leeches.

Rating: 9 I have seen this band three times, and this new album is going to be the most fun live! everytime, before this album, the audience was -extremely- underwhelmed by the lack of agression (prehistoric dog being the exception). this album provides a great dose of fun though it retains the necessary stoner riffs.
Troy Killjoy - 14.05.2014 at 21:55
The last 4 or 5 tracks really trail off in terms of quality but the first half of this album isn't too shabby. Unfortunately nowhere near as good as Murder the Mountains though.
