Staff review by

Sigh No More is the second release of Gamma Ray, after their debut Heading For Tomorrow, and with its weird cover, it is also a weird album. The line-up is once again different, introducing Uli Kusch on drums, with still Uwe Wessel on bass, Dirk Schlachter appears playing the guitar, while the duet Kai/Ralf is at its best.

Rating: 7 Not Kai's hottest work, but Scheepers does a great Axl Rose on "Father & Son".

Rating: 8 Well, this is not the typical Gamma Ray album. Clearly Judas Priest was a huge influence to this music. The album starts with "Changes" like "Sad Wings of Destiny" started with "Victim of Changes" - coincidence? I think not. Obviously the album is meant as a tribute to JP as it's more in heavy metal direction than the usual Gamma Ray power metal stuff. Sure it's not the most unique album out there and the music isn't that impressive either, but I have to admit that there is some quality in these songs.
