Musical collaborations. There's so much that can go wrong with them if the parties involved don't know how to properly channel the sacred kundalini energy that allows them to naturally flow into each other's styles. Then again, there's so much that can go right if they do. N.V. is a collaboration between Dragged Into Sunlight and Dutch mad genius Mories in his Gnaw Their Tongues incarnation. You shouldn't have to ask which of those two is the case for this one.

I don't really have the means to listen to it with decent quality at the moment, but it sounds like a pretty damn good fusion of both bands' sounds.

[EDIT]

Perhaps more in favour of GTT here.

Mories has dominated the track. I'm not complaining though.

New song: OMNISCIENZA

Really good song imo, ultra intense. Perhaps more like DiS than the last one, but if DiS played black metal.

Daaaaaaaaaaamn, that's some nasty shit! Loving it. And this time we definitely got DiS' vibe! This collaboration will fucking DESTROY at this rate.

Well, going through my second playthrough of it now, all I can really say is WOAH, you guys..... they nailed this fusion and they nailed it HARD. Amazing how crushing and riproaring this can be before making the nice transitions into Mories's disturbing dark ambient type sounds, and having said transitions feel totally natural as well. Gotta say I'm preferring this a lot to the GTT/Alkerdeel collab as well because, while that one was pretty damn excellent in its own right, at times it left me wanting more length, and a bit more structure and catchiness.... and you get both of those here. Seriously, this is just too damn good, if there even is such a thing. "Absolver" is turning out to be my personal favorite, but the whole thing front to back is just one huge ball of repulsive glory.

Really like it, but somehow I keep on wishing for something as vile as Hatred For Mankind and this comes a bit short. Still very solid stuff worth a few spins.

Put this on but went to have a shower, but came back to 'Strangled With The Cord'. Those riffs and drums. In-tucking-fence.

[edit]

Wow, there are bits during Omniscienza that remind me of Monolithe's 'Interlude Second'. That tone and percussive driven industrial repetition. Glorious.

FUCK THIS IS GOOD.

I think I agree there. This has depth which may not be present on a DiS album, but also has brutal clarity not found on a GTT record. Exceptional collab.

I wasn't sure what to expect. I like some of GTT's stuff and DiS' debut was fine, but I wouldn't call myself a fan of either project. This was pretty much what GTT+DiS was logically going to sound like anyways, so I don't know why I half-expected 1+1 to equal 3 and to fall in love with this for some reason. (And if there's one thing I never liked about GTT it's those samples. They just feel cheesy to me.) Still a solid album though, just not something I'm very interested in.

My favorite GTT album is still the collab with Alkerdeel. Apart from that I'll stick to Cloak Of Altering and Aderlating where Mories is concerned.

No, I don't I might have listened to it once about a year ago when I was going through most of Mories' stuff, but even if I did I don't remember anything about it. What does it sound like compared to his other works?

Somehow I never noticed this reply til now?
Well all of the Gnaw Their Tongues album blend BM, noise, drone, and industrial elements in various degrees. They're all a different sort of mix. The one I mentioned is more in noisey/drone territory, doesn't sound too far off from Aderlating at some points really. There's something about it though that you'd still only find with GTT, I don't know how quite to describe it.... maybe the transcendent air about it? I've noticed people sometimes do underestimate just how "beautiful" GTT can be, just in its own dark, peculiar way. Most noticeably on this album and the one with the long, French title.

Have a taste.

China was a neat
Sounds too forced and artificial to me. Not very close to GTT's sound, maybe it is more DIS but I haven't listened to them (May have to revisit this after checking them out). And the samples aren't that good either here. Or well maybe I went in expecting something like Dyodyo Asema .

EDIT: Fuck me, this is both tasty and nasty. GTT seems to really flexible in collaborations, he actually morphs into a new entity with the band he works with. Absolver reminds me why I started loving metal drumming in the first place.
