If you're familiar with Madder Mortem by now, you're probably tired of hearing how unique and hard to pin down genre-wise they are. But I'm gonna say it anyway.

I love how MM are exploring new soundscapes and at the same time finally sounds relaxed and found their way of doing business. Marrow is the Manifest for all the albums Madder has done - it has elements from Mercury to RITAC. I love how at the same time this album sound as the most beautiful bands work to date, but also as the most aggressive and heavy. The passages between aggressive and melodic parts are best to date in Madder history.

I liked RITAC, but it lacked character, sounded somehow forced with different songs mixed into one, but Marrow brings the feelings of Eight Ways and Desiderata, where everything is connected and fall into places perfectly.

The perfect description for this album would be - the calm between the storms, where Agnette's soft and magical vocals prepare us for the pain and sorrow to come which than turns into anthems for the apocalypse.

I'm glad that the band left Peaceville and are now working with Dark Essence, I don't know if its their impact, but the sound is much richer, with a lot more happening and also we get new Madder music much faster than in Peaceville era.

Can't decide where this album stands for me, I still need more spins, but it definitely reaches the tops of Eight Ways and Desiderata. After such a strong come back, I really hope they will be able to finish the Madder Mortem albums titles equation
the riddle wants to be...
