Exploring industrial metal more over the past year, it sometimes feels as though the bleaker, more painful side of the genre was something that was seen more so in its early history than anything else. While not nonexistent, few bands today seem to really tap into the grittier and more agonizing approach that the style can really conjure. Author & Punisher, however, is certainly an exception to that trend.

Pretty intense stuff, nice that between this and the new P.H.O.B.O.S. we've gotten a good dose of the more extreme side of industrial metal this year. Pretty impressive that this guy crafts all his instruments from scratch too, I'd highly suggest anyone who enjoys this watch the video for Nihil Strength that actually shows him going on all his devices. Unique set up, for sure.
Now who should I call? Should I call Mr. Strawberry?
No, I don't think I'll call Mr. Strawberry. I don't think he's taking calls.

I loved this album, the video of Nihil Strength was riveting. It was a visual and aural pleasure to see one person handle all those instruments and create a sound that is so industrial and so heavy at the same time. The complicated arrangement of the instruments as well as the efiiciency with which he handled them was evoked a certain sense of wonder and curiosity within me.The heavier tracks of the album definitely outshines the not so heavy ones. It reminded me pleasantly of Godflesh.
