Dissonant black metal was, at one point, at the avant-garde of metal. But full decades have passed since then, and now it's a sound that has became quite commonplace in metal. Pushing it back towards the avant-garde is something that only the brave do. Sacrificial Vein show some of that bravery.

This year's first 9 for me. What an insane album, literally. The vocals are so deranged at times, which I guess some will find off putting, but I love them. The heavy dissonant guitars just adds to the insanity. This album sounds like it was recorded at a mental asylum by the most twisted patients there. Probably gonna be one of my favourite 2024 albums by the end of the year.

I had to check this out after reading this comment and I'm so glad I did. I have to agree, this album is insane and the vocals are indeed deranged. I thought Blut Aus Nord's last few releases were twisted and intense but they actually sound rather tame in comparison to this vile monstrosity!

Yeah, the screaming and the totally deranged laughter before the 4-minute mark on "Throne Of Perversion" is the highlight of the album And the vocals are so varied while always being on different levels of insanity.
